The energy and cultivating autonomy had always been our goal and it was accomplished by 2022.
The recycling of product waste, of water, the installation of photovoltaic panels as well as the good use of the remaining production, by creating byproducts of everyday use, have all been conscious business decisions that reflect our green kai eco-friendly mentality.
ECO ACTIONS
Installation of 10,5kw photovoltaic panels that renders 100% energy self-sufficiency of the oil mill’s operation and all the electrical powered tools.
Replacement of all gas-powered tools that are used in the olive farming process such as chainsaws, grass cutters, by electric machinery of olive harvesting that carry a lithium battery.
All the leftovers from pruning, together with the oil mill’s organic waste, are mixed together in order to produce a mix that is fermented during the summer months. Following the summer fermentation, the mix is spread on the land, in September, and it is a premium organic product used as a fertilizer.
The oil mill is free of any plastic parts and we use machines that operate at a low speed that use less energy and thus contributing to the minimization of carbon dioxide release.
